This upgrade turbocharger for EA888 Gen. 3 engines is designed forultra performance and is actually neither an upgrade nor a hybrid turbocharger. All the turbocharger’s components are extremely high-quality and made from the best materials available – to reach up to 490 hp and 580 Nm.
The compressor housing has been specially developed for this turbocharger. The exhaust housing is made from high-strength stainless steel and boasts a high exhaust flow rate. It withstands temperatures of up to 1,050 °C. The duct routing is also tailored for this high performance and flow-optimised. It achieves a 17% higher flow rate than a standard turbo. Another advantage: thanks to its design, all downpipes and most tuning articles fit on the turbocharger without any need to make elaborate changes. This way, you get the most possible driving fun from your 1.8 TFSI / 2.0 TFSI EA888 engine.
EA888 Gen.3 MQB – Garrett turbocharger with state-of-the-art technology
The turbo looks sporty already from the outside – but its state-of-the-art technology is concealed under its casings. The trick is an extremely high-quality, reverse-rotating Garrett GT2260S core assembly with a MAR-M exhaust gas turbine wheel. The milled, forged compressor wheel is from the latest series from Garrett, the GTX Gen II series, meaning it’s state-of-the-art.
The compressor housing has been designed to be compatible with most tuning articles available as accessories. For example, the electrical Turbosmart blow-off valves fit on the turbocharger without any changes. The intake opening in front of the compressor wheel is coordinated perfectly with the turbocharger and is supplied together with a fitting inlet.
