The Ford standard valves have the big disadvantage that they can break in engines with a considerable increase in power or with long mileage. The standard valves are hollow and sodium cooled inside. With the very thin valve stem of only 5.5 mm there is not much material left to protect the valve!

For 1 mm oversize valves the valve seat must be adjusted.

When installing a new three-way valve, we always recommend installing new OEM valve wedges. This ensures that the valve is seated properly. If used wedges are used, they may be blocked and the valve will not seat properly and have play.
